Scientific activities
The Department of Public and Private International Law – after the antecedents in the 1990s – was established in 2005. Due to the international character of its courses, the department takes part not only in the education of public and private international law as well as EU law at the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Science but also delivers lectures for other faculties of the university (e.g., International Relations and International Studies). In addition, younger colleagues of the department carry out significant educational activities in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics by teaching introductory courses such as basic legal and EU materials. The department is committed to ensure its high standard of education by involving nationally and internationally recognized theoretical experts and practical professionals who carry out extensive scientific activities. Accordingly, the majority of our staff possesses postgraduate doctoral degrees and younger colleagues attend the Doctoral School of Law and Political Science of the university to gain PhD degree.
